Class requirements include: Class participation in group, a taped practice counseling session with a volunteer client for the purpose of evaluating their skills
Class Description: This course presents and demonstrates issues by way of class group dynamics. The student is taught how to facilitate a group, manage group dynamics, and inform and instruct clients through actual participate in group. A component of the group dynamic is the presentation of key counseling issues. Instructor lecture will inform students of characteristics, behavior patterns, and issues surrounding each topic presented. Some of the presented topics include: physical and sexual abuse, domestic violence, stress, adultery, marriage, codependency, and growth development and the phases of life.
