Mt Zion
LOREN & BONNIE COVARRUBIAS

Loren Covarrubias, senior pastor of Mt Zion Church, began his journey in full-time ministry in the late 1970s. As a young man in his mid-twenties, he had a heart for God’s people and a word from the Lord calling him to establish a church. Over 40 years has passed since then and Mt Zion Church continues to impact not just its local community, but also the other nations of the world. Loren is married to his wife and ministry partner, Bonnie. They have three children: Loren, Billy, and Ashley, as well as many grandchildren.

Marriage Class

DATE(S)
  • This 10 week session will begin on March 17th.

TIME
  • Sunday Nights at 6pm

GENERAL INFO
While it is true that all marriages are as unique as the individuals who are joined together in the marriage, we should consider the wisdom of God in his description of marriage. Ephesians 5 calls the marriage union a ‘great mystery’. The mystery is not some puzzle to be solved but rather a unique connection that can grow and feel new, time and time again. This class will offer insights, Biblical principles and practical application that we believe will help develop that kind of connection. This 10 week class is for married couples only and both spouses must attend. Childcare is available. The class will close after the first 2 weeks, so plan ahead! Click Here to sign-up. If you have questions or want more information, call Pastor Mike Sanchez at 248-391-6166 ext. 904 or fill out our contact form.

Kids can expect a loosely structured day, playing with friends on the indoor play structure, riding scooters, and playing organized games. A movie day will be scheduled once each week where kids will be encouraged to bring in their sleeping bags or pillow and blanket. We will serve popcorn along with the movie.

With a loose framework, kids should come ready to play. Please bring a sack lunch, snack, water bottle, play clothes, comfortable shoes, sweatshirt or coat. You can also bring non-electronic toys, a sleeping bag or blanket on movie day, or a scooter or board with a helmet.

Register by contacting the Mt Zion Community Center at 248-674-0368 or mzcc@mtzion.org. Let us know the names, grade of each child and which days they will be attending. We will also collect your email address and phone number. If we do not have a waiver on file for the child, one will be emailed to you and must be completed before they are dropped off. We will use Remind, a texting app, to communicate any necessary information with you.

If you are interested in spending time here with the kids, we would love to have you volunteer. Whether it is one day during the break, every day, or even a few hours. If you are looking to support in other ways, you can donate craft supplies, coloring books, board games, or even snacks or prizes for the games.

HANDICAP PARKING

There is a designated handicap parking lot adjacent to Door #1 in the main parking lot. You can access this parking lot by entering at the Mt. Zion sign off Maybee Rd. Please note, there are a limited number of spaces in this lot so if a handicap space is needed, we encourage you to arrive early. Depending on traffic, we also have the ability to ‘drop off’ any family member with limited mobility at Door #1 and then it is possible for the driver to finish parking the vehicle and meet their family member in the center lobby. Again, if this is of interest, we recommend you arrive early. Otherwise, traffic patterns limit maneuverability in the parking lot to park your vehicle after Drop Off. We look forward to seeing you at our events and if you have any questions, please call us at (248) 391-6166.

ABOUT US

Focused on living a healthy lifestyle, the facility will offer classes to strengthen and define muscles, improve balance, and increase stamina. Coaches will be prepared to offer modifications to meet the level of each student in the class. Our facility is suitable for those just starting out on their journey and those who have been focused on fitness for a while. What to expect:

  • We encourage comfortable modest activewear and ask that you wear indoor sneakers when in the fitness center.
  • We offer two locker rooms with changing areas, one of which has showers.
  • We have all the fitness equipment you need but encourage you to bring your own yoga mat to class. We offer foam mats which are great for fitness and restorative yoga, but many prefer a thinner mat for slow flow classes.
